I never knew booster pads existed until I read this article. Hopeful that it will cure our toddlers overnight issue. Thank you!

But what if your son is already in 7s? We learned in the newborn stage that once our son started leaking through the diaper overnight that it was time to size up. My 19 mo is average height and weight, but is in 7s and wears a booster pad overnight. Just finished changing him and the sheets out, which means it is time to size up but I can’t find size 8 diapers anywhere!

We are going through the exact same thing, although my daughter is 16.5 months. We went from never encountering a leak, to being absolutely soaked, and waking up much earlier than expected! Sheets are soaked, along with her blanket and lovey that she sleeps with. It’s become a laundry nightmare, and I feel terrible for her that she’s ultimately sleeping in wet clothing and bedding. I think I am going to attempt going up a size in diapers first, followed by the liners if need be, and lastly doubling up on diapers. Thanks for all the tips and tricks, glad to hear we’re not alone in this, and have fellow moms to lean on! : )]]> In reply to Janice.

The past 3 days, my almost 13 month has been waking up early soaked though her diaper, all up her front, through the sheets…we have been using overnight diapers, which seemed to work before, and now it’s just like a regular diaper. I didn’t know it was common at this age. I plan to try the liners to see if that works. Thank you again!

Another hack I found that’s really helping with my kids is to use a cloth diapers cover over the disposable diaper. Cloth diapers waterproof covers tend to really seal everything in, better than disposables 🙂
Plus, they are usually very cheap! Worth investing in one or two for the nights if you have a heavy wetter.

Double layer the bed (mattress pad-sheet-mattress pad-sheet). Then you only strip the bed instead of remaking in the middle of the night. Also helpful for any other bodily fluid emergencies in the middle of the night.

This is ad disguised as help. what a load of literal crap!

I tried to Sposie diaper pads but they weirdly deteriorated in the diaper. I have been very happy with these diapers!

You are such a resourceful mother! I never knew that nighttime diapers or booster pads existed until I read this post longtime ago !!! Your kids are so lucky, you really always go beyond !!! When I had a similar problem with my son I opted to change him while he was sleeping before I would go to sleep. Each night after he’d had his bath and had drunk his milk I would put him to bed and as I was going to bed a lot later than him I would go and check his diaper before I go to sleep. If it was already half full, sometimes already full (!) I would gently change his diaper quickly so that he would not wake up in the middle of the night or very early due to the discomfort of a wet diaper and wet clothes.Sometimes he would immediately wet his diaper after drinking his night bottle while awake so I always changed it and put him to bed knowing that it would get him through the night dry.It was easy because I never used a sleeping sack so I did not have to remove it to change the diaper and overall had very few accidents.
