We’ve been living in Fairfield County for six years now, and I’ve certainly developed lots of favorites over the years! At first, when I came here, I was so worried that I’d miss all of the “options” that the city had to offer, in terms of activities, food, drinks, and shopping. What I quickly learned is that there are absolutely fantastic restaurants, cafes, stores, bars, and businesses of all kinds…and that the people running them are just as remarkable! I’m so proud to live in an area where there is so much to do and discover, and I very rarely go to NYC to explore now. I last shared my “Fairfield County Favorites” over four years ago!
Sadly, many businesses that I highlighted in that post have since shut down. As I sat down to update the post, it was a sobering reminder that it truly is so important to patron the businesses all around us in our area. It makes such a difference for the entrepreneurs who run them! I hope this post gives you some fun ideas of spots to try if you haven’t already. Let me know below in the comments if there are places I’ve forgotten or need to try!

We love visiting this awesome local farm as a family. They have great camps in the summer, and even offer cooking seminars and events!

We love going to this drive-in movie theater in the warmer months in Westport! They play such fun movies, and the organization is actually a nonprofit (The theater employs and supports people with disabilities), so your ticket price goes to a wonderful cause!

Thank goodness for OKO .Fairfield county had been significantly lacking in great sushi, and OKO just opened with delicious omakase and nigiri! They also have lots of yummy cooked options and outstanding cocktails available.
This is our favorite non-fancy Japanese restaurant in the area. It’s very solid, and has a pretty large menu!
I’ve been eating the green papaya Salad weekly from Jeera Thai! I can’t get enough. I also highly recommend their noodle and fried rice dishes.
This is a good, dependable sushi spot that is open for lunch and has a really nicely priced brunch bento on the weekends. I find that it is also very kid friendly.
My favorite jewish deli in the area. It feels like it’s stuck in time, in the best way possible. I LOVE their matzoh ball soup.
Really good food, and great beer and wine list. My favorite oyster selection in the area! Hop across the piazza after dinner for ice cream!
A fun spot for wine and tapas! Plus it gets a little cray cray on the weekend, in a good way!
I looove this bbq place, and often use it to cater. It’s fun to eat in, too, and sometimes they have live music on the weekend evenings!

This is my favorite Italian deli in the area! The sandwiches are fantastic, but their creamy breaded chicken tenders are SO addictive too!
This Cafe in Westport is awesome for coffee drinks and pastries!
Want authentic Italian coffee, and imported goods? Visit Pausa Caffe ASAP. It mends my homesickness for Italia every time!
This is one of our faves because it serves up delicious “Hawker Fare”, or Asian street food! It’s family-run and just so lovely.
This Korean Fried chicken spot is a top choice for us when eating out with the kiddos. We all love it so much!
I like the healthy bowls at this spot!

I love the California vibes of this super chic boutique and art gallery hybrid. Kerri turns her cool paintings in to awesome home decor accent pieces and even has interior design services if needed!
I love checking out the market at this charming farm! Make sure to grab your A++++ produce as well as try some of the packaged products from local small businesses selling there.
This sustainability-focused clothing brand has ultra chic clothing and accessories!
I usually stop by Terrain to get inspo for any home or garden project I’m embarking on! If you haven’t been yet, it’s a whole destination in itself! It’s definitely on the pricey side, but it’s so well curated that I can get great ideas there!
This is a really sweet jewel box of a jewelry store in downtown Westport! She has beautifully curated pieces in a variety of price points!
This is a really cute, preppy boutique with something for everyone. They have a really cute jewelry selection, and great hostess gifts. I also use their monogram services to make custom baby gifts for friends!
I love going in to the local paper source for inspiration– they always have the greatest products and seasonal displays. Plus the best card selection around!
This is a very cool clothing and accessory boutique that is decidedly “Un-Connecticut”. They take their cue from west-coast style and it’s a nice breath of fresh air!
If you’re looking for a cool children’s boutique, YOYA is it! It’s on the pricier side but WOW is it amazing.
This is a small, hidden shop at the docks where Copp’s Island oysters are harvested in Norwalk! It’s beautifully designed, and has really cute, maritime-inspired products
This jewelry and women’s apparel brand is available online, and out of Greenwich Connecticut. The pieces are all so gorgeous and instantly transport me to Europe.

Welcome to my first spotlight feature! I’m so excited to be kicking off this feature, mostly because there have been so many incredible brands, restaurants, shops, experiences, and events that I’ve discovered over the past few years. I thought it would be fun to share things along the way that have been inspiring me– in the hopes that they’ll inspire you all too! I thought I would start this feature off with a brand helmed by an artist who is a Mama, an entrepreneur, a designer, and a business owner: Kerri Rosenthal!

Kerri Rosenthal is chic little tastemaker and Fairfield County icon, in my humble opinion. She is such a fabulous painter, and has used her paintings over the years as design inspiration that fuels her interior design business and home decor offerings. Her store has everything from removable wallpaper decals to custom poufs, cashmere sweaters, wallpaper, art pieces, mugs, jewelry, shoes, and furniture. When I tell you her taste is the absolute epitome of cool, I am not exaggerating. Kerri places such an emphasis on joy and love in every single piece she designs, paints, or promotes– and I swear it radiates everywhere!

When Kyle and I first moved to Fairfield County, I felt like a fish out of water in a major way. I have a really colorful and energetic design aesthetic (if you haven’t noticed. LOL), but a lot of the stores I came across exemplified a more conservative vibe. We were looking at homes, and stopped for lunch– I stumbled upon Kerri’s boutique and my eyeballs nearly popped out of my head. I was so blown away by the light and bright vibe with such juicy pops of color and energy. It reminded me so much of every single thing I love a space to be. And the store itself was so well curated. Kerri’s daughter, Ali, was working the front of the store and she was just so stylish and adorbs, and reminded me of Marlowe all grown up in the most idealized way possible and let me tell you I. WAS. HERE. FOR. IT. I was super pregnant with Major at the time, but I remember buying a few things, leaving the store, and turning to Kyle and just saying “I LOVE it in there.” I ended up choosing some of Kerri’s wallpaper for our guest room, and over the years have popped in to the boutique time and time again. It is currently in its bigger, more fabulous location in Westport– and I can just spend hours there hanging out and being surrounded by all the amazing energy and inspiring style. Every single time I go in to the boutique I feel like I come out reinvigorated.

And luckily for everyone who isn’t local to Westport, her online store is just as fab! I’m so obsessed with the line of “drippy heart” sweaters that have become a Kerri Rosenthal staple. She is also the queen of the throw pillow. There are so many options! I really shouldn’t be giving you too much scoop, but let’s just say that our brand new forEVA home features lots of Kerri Rosenthal design elements. And for further Inspo, I’m so pleased to bring you a Q&A with the Lady Of The Hour herself!

I’m very inspired by Dutch, Scandinavian relaxed design aesthetic. I worked for an iconic Dutch company, Oilily for 10 years and it’s now part of my DNA. I am a strong believer in homes that are beautiful AND livable and I always want to offer beauty and comfort at the same time. I’ve also brought that same aesthetic and happy vibe to my shop in Westport as well.
I’ve always loved the idea of making art as accessible as possible, and taking it off the canvas and onto my Home and Wearable collections has just been so great. I paint paintings to be just that, paintings, but so many of them lend themselves to wallpaper and fabrics. And my Drippy Hearts are now part of my signature cashmere collection and new totes are coming this summer. I sit with my team each year, and we look at the paintings and select those that will show up in our next year’s collections.

Every day is different but I love it. I love meeting with people, touching people and hearing about what my work means to them. It’s is everything to me. I think it also helps me to become a better artist and person, too.
The most challenging is, it is a business, with all that that implies. But I wouldn’t change it for anything.
You can’t do everything. My kids have watched me work every single day, and have learned that moms cam work and be moms too. They have seen me grow and my business grow, and they are very much a part of it.

We are working on so many collaborations right now including a Surfboard one with one of my favorite designers in California. We are also working on having our fabrics and wallpapers represented in showrooms around the country and look out for something big coming in the fall.
Easy. Picasso.
I’m all about smell and texture and Bobbie Brown’s balm is the best. I can’t live without my Clarins Instant Light lip gloss. Lately, I’m very interested in Kimberly Cole products as well. Her cosmetics are really yummy. (we are hoping to do a collab this summer as well. Stay tuned).

I truly cannot believe that the time has FINALLY come to introduce you to our Mommy & Me capsule collection for Masala Baby! I’m beyond thrilled to show you this, since I’ve been working on it for nearly a year– and I’m so happy with it that it has been absolute TORTURE to keep it a secret from you all! Masala Baby is a brand I love, and that I’ve dressed my kids in for years. I’ve even worn some Masala Baby women’s resort wear in the past! But since becoming a Mama I’ve found it increasingly challenging to find stylish and pretty Mommy & Me options to coordinate with my kids. Marlowe and I love dressing alike, and we thought it would be fun to bring our love for prints and color to life with a resort collection that encapsulates both of our bold personalities. We really hope you guys love it as much as we do! I’m talking about each piece below, so read away– and don’t forget that the collection launches January 29th at 7am EST, and has limited production– so make sure to set your alarm and snag your faves!

I first just wanted to write a bit about why I love Masala Baby as a brand, and chose it to partner with on my first collection– because I think what makes the brand special is something that the mamas out there will really appreciate. As a brand, Masala Baby is incredibly supportive of women in the workplace, and of uplifting women across the globe. Their team works to build partnerships with women-led organizations that provide sustainable work for their artisans– empowering many women AND their communities. I LOVE this positive message, and I feel it is manifested also in the brand’s application of fun patterns, lively color choices, and cuts of clothing that flatter girls and women while also remaining age-appropriate. To me, it’s the perfect mix of playful and classic, and I love that! Their cotton pajamas are also organic, and the fabric is so amazing that I’ve managed to pass down the PJ’s through both of my kids, and then on to cousins and friends, without them ever fading or ripping. I think when buying for our kids, of course it’s nice to have those throwaway clothes that are great for everyday wear and tear– but it’s also nice to have some special pieces that we truly LOVE, appreciate the meaning behind, and can pass down from child to child and keep in a box for future grandchildren. And it’s especially special when they’re pieces YOU CAN MATCH WITH!!! Gahhh I just love this so much. Ok, here they are!

The entire REZTT x Masala Baby color scheme was inspired by two things: 1. Marlowe’s Blue Eyes and 2. The ocean and sand, which are both Marlowe and my favorite things about being in warm weather. I love the mini floral print of this tunic that is almost like a liberty print, but so soft and subtle that it is basically a neutral. The fabric is light and airy, and I like to wear it as a top, paired with white denim, a bright colored set of shorts, or even tucked in to a full skirt for a totally different look. If you bring this on a trip, you essentially have three looks in one! I just adore the luxurious fringe tassel on the bottom that give the tunic that beachy vibe. While we were in Miami shooting this lookbook, I got so many questions about this tunic daily! It comes in Women’s sizes 2-18.

The girls version of the Mommy tunic is identical, just cut smaller! Marlowe loves wearing it with her denim cutoffs to go grab lunch, or thrown over a bathing suit in between cannonballs and snorkel adventures. It’s even long enough for her to wear it as a little mini dress with bike shorts underneath! I love how we can wear the same tunic and either play up the fact that it’s identical– or wear it different ways to mix it up a bit. This tunic will be available in sizes 2-12 years! (FYI, my friend’s baby who is 1 wore this with the sleeves rolled up and it was fine)

Pink and gold: my colors, baby!! Since the whole capsule was going to be a sea of blue and sand tones, I wanted to do a bright swimsuit that would make a statement in the surf! Are you surprised I chose pink? LOL. The flower at the heart chakra is to remind ourselves of our divine feminine natures. I love that this swimsuit is both glam and functional– and to be honest, we had to work a lot on the fit! I wanted to make sure that the fit was flattering and flirty, but not too revealing. As somebody who has had nearly every breast size under the sun, the halter shape is supportive and can be adjusted whether your top is big or smaller! We also made sure the seat of the bathing suit is cut so that it lifts up the shape of the butt, and doesn’t hug in all the wrong places. This suit is available in sizes 2-18.

The coordinating suit for Marlowe in this collection features a larger flower and a cute gold crossback. Bows on the sides adjust the side fit of the bathing suit. Marlowe is like a little fishy, and can stay in the water for hours! I wanted to make sure that the cut and style of the suit would keep her comfortable , and is something she could grow in to. Marlowe has had swimsuits from Masala Baby in the past with this cut, and she and I both love it! I like that our swimsuits are similar, but not entirely identical.

You guys know that mixing prints is my favorite thing ever, and I just couldn’t get enough of this mini floral mixed with a more broad and whimsical vintage floral for a sundress! The waistband is elastic and drawstring for extra comfort, and the dress falls to just above or just at the knee, depending on height. Floor length sundresses aren’t all that practical for me while running after the kiddos in warm weather, and I wanted to make sure I offered a dress that could be dressed down (with slides and sunnies) or up (with a blazer and heels) for different styles of event. It’s even bump and nursing friendly! This dress is offered in sizes 2-18.

I love the idea of little girls looking like little girls, and not like mini adults! For Marlowe’s coordinating dress in this collection, I wanted a silhouette that was totally classic– but made more modern by the mixing of the floral prints. I just love how this dress turned out, and Marlowe is so comfy in it! She is not the most princessy girl in the world– and this dress is the perfect medium between pretty and functional. It is being offered in sizes 2-12 years

These pajamas just might be my fave piece (but shhhh don’t tell my other clothes children! LOL) You know, as a Mom who loves coordinating my kids to me but ALSO coordinating my son and daughter with EACH OTHER– I had to make a unisex PJ! Marlowe is a tomboy at times, and loves the outdoors. Her latest obsession: bugs! I thought it would be super cute to make a pajama with little beetles in an array of gorge aquatic colors. Perfect for a brother or sister. Since these Pajamas come in baby and kid sizes, all the siblings and cousins can match! Ps- can you spot the sweet heart detailing on them? Perfect for Valentine’s day and beyond. Pajamas being offered in sizes 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months, and sizes 2-10 years

Well, that’s all she wrote folks!! I loved doing this capsule so much that I honestly could have done about ten more pieces. But hopefully I get the chance to do another very soon! Don’t forget that the collection launches on the Masala Baby website on January 29th at 7am EST. We didn’t make a ton of inventory, just to warn! I appreciate all your support so much, and I can’t wait to see those of you that snag pieces wearing them! Please let me know if you like the collection in the comments below!
xoxo

Also big shoutout to Julia Dags who took these gorgeous shots, and helped me wrangle a four year old for a lookbook in Miami. Best photog ever!

Personalized jewelry is super popular right now, and practically required in the Mommy Space. So many brands make personalized pieces, but I’ve noticed that sometimes people end up buying the same ones over and over again– and they don’t appear as unique as one would like when you pay extra for customized jewelry!

I just adore wearing my kids’ names or initials, alongside my own and even Kyle’s! I recently had a cool set of necklaces made with Marlowe and Major’s names (pictured here and in the collage), and I got so many questions about them that I realized people might be craving a bit of a personalized jewelry reset. Today I thought I would do a roundup of my favorite unique personalized jewelry pieces in case anyone is looking for something cool and not too expensive! Just click on the collage below to shop!

I’ve never shied away from talking about Sex on my blog– I think it’s one of the most pertinent topics in the Marriage and Motherhood space– and with tomorrow being Valentine’s Day, I know that love, sex, and intimacy are on almost everyone’s mind! But I also know that Holidays, and Valentine’s Day in particular, can mean a lot of pressure. I’ve been really open in the past about how much my own sex life has changed over the years with pregnancy and Motherhood, and when you’re trying to get “back on the horse” (for lack of a better term) the pressure to have the best sex ever just because it’s expected on a holiday can really do anything BUT set the mood.

That’s why I’m so excited about K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® , and their awesome messaging for Valentine’s Day…and all the other 364 days of the year! K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® is a really fun, playful twist on your normal lube. It’s a pair of lube tubes that come together– one for you, (that gives one sensation when applied) and one for your partner (that gives a different sensation). It’s Science, baby! LOL. What I love the most about K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® is how exploratory it is. I personally feel that one of the best parts of being in a committed relationship is that you can feel free to explore, investigate, and be playful sexually with each other without feeling like the other person will judge you. In a lot of ways, the pressure is off– especially when you’ve been together a while like Kyle and I have. Sometimes that lack of pressure can be bad– raise your hand if you get lazy about creating sexy time with your partner…ME! But sometimes the lack of pressure can be a great way to join together and put the fun back in your sex life.

K-Y® recently worked with Wakefield Research to conduct a survey of 1,000 US adults in committed relationships, and one of the statistics they found was that most couples feel tons of pressure to have sex on Holidays (Hi, Valentine’s Day), but that most individuals (86%) reported that sex actually felt the best when it was spontaneous. And 92% of people say that sex always feels better with a lubricant (I agree wholeheartedly with that!). This Valentine’s Day, I’m joining K-Y® to promote the idea of making sex fun 365 days a year. You don’t need a special day to spark that intimacy with your partner, and to have the best sex ever!

This year for Valentine’s Day, I’m gifting Kyle K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants® set. I’m sure when he opens his gift bag he’s going to be thrilled that I took the time to prioritize our sex life (that doesn’t happen as much as it should, if I’m being brutally honest ) and I love that there is a whole aspect of this product that is about ME as an individual in our sex life. I think that going in to any sexual encounter recognizing that each person has their own sexual journey for themselves, and that something really beautiful can be made by bringing those together, is a really healthy perspective. I plan on making this type of playfulness in our sex life something that we can enjoy on all the other days of the year besides Valentine’s Day. I can’t wait to try out the lube set! TMI, maybe, sorry. Hahah. I mean we do have two kids, people!

Are you going to try K-Y® Yours+Mine® Couples Lubricants®, or have you in the past? I would love to hear about your experience if you feel comfortable sharing!!

Many thanks to SpoonfulOne for sending me this amazing product to try, and for sponsoring this post! As always, the thoughts and opinions expressed below are entirely my own.
As any parent these days is aware, food allergies among children are growing at a rapid rate. It’s now estimated that two children per classroom are affected by food allergies, and that 30% of children with food allergies are allergic to multiple foods. This is a scary statistic for a Mom! I have several Mom friends who have children with life-threatening food allergies and it is a daily struggle for the entire family. My own brother bit into an apple in his twenties and immediately went into anaphylactic shock– and is currently (suddenly) severely allergic to a litany of foods including most tree fruits and some nuts! I’ve made it a point to be proactive about food allergies with my own children.

And today I’m really excited to introduce you to a product I’m using with Major to prevent him from developing food allergies– meet SpoonfulOne! SpoonfulOne is a daily food mix-in developed by a pediatrician, allergist and mom of five kids. This gentle powder makes it easy to regularly feed all the foods most commonly associated with food allergies, beyond just peanuts – since 77% of people with a food allergy are allergic to something other than peanuts. The Pediatric and Allergy community now recommends babies are introduced to a wide variety of common foods allergens “early and often” to decrease your child’s likelihood of developing food allergies.

SpoonfulOne was created as a complete, safe and easy way for parents to introduce all the most common food allergens – gently training your child’s immune system and reducing food allergy risk! It’s taken daily and can be started once solids are introduced at 4-6 months or older.
I have to admit that when it comes to Major, I’m a bit overprotective. As my Rainbow Baby, the idea of anything happening to him (especially something as scary as a deadly food allergy!) is just too much for me to handle. That’s why SpoonfulOne helps me relax a bit and know I’m doing all I can to prep Major for the rest of his life eating out in the world! Plus, it’s so easy to do. When you subscribe, you get a welcome kit that includes a 30-day supply of SpoonfulOne packets and a cute little BPA-free bowl and spoon. There are really simple directions and a planner included in the box. You can mix the SpoonfulOne powder (it doesn’t have a flavor) with any puree that your baby likes to eat– cereal, mashed fruits or veggies, or even yogurt if that is not an allergen for your baby! Once a day, I mix the powder with some cereal or applesauce for Major, and feed it to him for a snack. Well, these days he actually much prefers feeding himself! LOL. When we’re done, I feel like I can breathe a little sigh of relief and know that I’m being as proactive as possible to keep him safe and healthy. And so far– no allergies!

Ultimately, my son won’t always be in my care. He’ll spend most of his day among his peers at school and will be exposed to all sorts of things emotionally, physically, and yes even foods that I can’t control! While it’s hard to admit that his own safety will one day be out of my hands and in his, it’s important to me to take these little but important steps now while he’s still my itty bitty guy. Well, maybe not so itty bitty anymore… (*cries*) Gah! Why did I decide to stop having children! LOL.

Are you concerned about food allergies, and would you try SpoonfulOne? I’m so interested to hear about your experiences too!

Many thanks to Seventh Generation for sending me this disinfectant spray to try and for sponsoring this post! As always, the thoughts and opinions expressed below are entirely my own.
Sometimes a company comes out with a new product that I truly feel like was made for me– this is one of those times. I am totally, completely OBSESSED with the new Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray. So, as you obviously know, I have two small children. And with two small children, come the germs. THE GERMSSSS. So many germs!! My parenting style is definitely not one that encourages keeping my children in a hermetically-sealed bubble– in fact we love getting out in to the world and getting down and dirty with our kids!

When I was trying to get pregnant with Lowie, I switched to botanical cleaning products and it’s become a part of our routine ever since. Keeping our home clean and tidy without other products hasn’t been difficult at all, but when it comes to disinfecting the mountains of toys and all the surfaces when my kids are sick…that’s another story. A few months ago, we got two stomach bugs back to back– all of us– and as I was scrubbing every last toy in my sink filled with hot water and soap at midnight it two-day-old sweatpants, I kept thinking “There has to be a smarter choice.” Why isn’t there a convenient aerosol format, to reach the nooks and crannies of your hard surfaces, and kill germs using a botanical formula? WHY HADN’T SOMEBODY THOUGHT OF THAT?! Well folks, I’m about to rock your world: now they have. And this is it. This Seventh Generation Disinfecting Spray has totally changed the game at the Martino household.

My kids recently got a really bad cold. You allow the items to dry for ten minutes, and that’s it! The spray kills 99.99% of household germs botanically and there is no rinsing or wiping required. It’s even safe for food surfaces. I spray Major’s high chair tray and our kitchen table and countertop every single day now after the kids are in bed to help fight the spread of germs. When the kids are under the weather, I go around the house spraying all the doorknobs to make sure the germs doesn’t linger.

What’s even better, Seventh Generation’s Disinfectant Spray is powered by compressed air. Furthermore, it doesn’t contain a flammable propellant! It eliminates odors and the scents are made with essential oils and botanical extracts. My favorite one is the Lavender, Vanilla & Thyme scent. I can’t recommend this spray enough (we go through cans and cans of it), and I am so excited that I have Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray as we head in to cold and flu season! Household Germs begone!
